Another week, weight still within my goal range, makes one happy camper, esp. with holiday meals coming up.. just eat smart, and use low cal, sugar (or substitute), low carb ingredients. We have found unsweetened van. flavored Almond Milk has 30 cal/cup compared to 80 cal, skim milk. use for drinking, but esp. cooking. as well, use sweet n low granulated or similar 0 cal sweetener. we love Egg Nog, so we use "silk" holiday nog, which has 80 cal/1/2 cup as compared to 180 reg nog. try sugar/fat free coffee creamers, and breads as well. we have started using the "fake"meats (Morning Star) and have found they substitute well, and the burgers are good.(never thought I'd be eating much less liking them!We eat non fat yogurts, (Activia,Carb Smart)as well as lots of fresh fruits/veggies. while not cheap, it does work well with watching diet, and some form of exercise is a must.. I prefer walking, as my wife does too, but goes to gym 3-5 days/wk. as of yesterday,I have walked 940 miles this yr, and have a goal of 1000 before Dec.31st.key is as it's hard to buy separate meals,your spouse has to be willing to change their diet as well, or find a way to compromise and incorporate substitutions in your meal prep. and above all, empty the snack cabinet,and replace them with fresh fruit, and recipes using fresh fruit. hope this gives some encouragement to at least one who may be struggling with your diets.till nxt week, have a good one!
