Tink1953's Journal, 21 December 2022

Opened the door this morning to another 5 inches which is unusual when it's this cold. Low tonight is minus 72 with the wind chill! The cattle are circled up and voicing their unhappiness. It's a very melancholy sound that carries for miles in the cold, clear sky.

Really didn't want to go into town, but we both had doctors appointments. I've been having problems with my right eye. Found out I have a crease in my retina and an infection. The grand kids have that new strep variant and are pretty ill. Mom had a difficult time getting amoxicillin for them. I find that scary and so totally unacceptable.

We have lots of very wealthy neighbors. They just love buying up real estate. Plus I think they enjoy the scenery. Anyway, the the Italian movie stars are selling their mansion on the other side of the lake. Wonder who will buy it? Having a small "range war". The CFO of a large fortune 500 company cut the fence of the COO of another fortune 500 company. No rifles. Going to be settled in court.

Wishing everyone a safe and, hopefully warm, holiday season.

Minus 72 is colder than it ever gets in Alaska and the arctic. Where do you live?

An air temperature of -32 with a 15 mph wind will give you a feels like temperature of -72.

Tink1953. — 74 here in Southern Calif. morning starts out out in the mid 40’s , which is winter for us.. got my UGG boots, Sherpa jacket, ear muffs, gloves and I’m ready to brave the elements.. stay warm. This arctic blast is a brutal one. My surfer girl daughter moved to Michigan in May so I have been having fun watching her buy what she THINKS are winter clothes. Hehehehe

Mid 40s would be a heat wave for us. We'd be in shorts and tees. It is supposed to warm up at the end of the week. It's just miserable and no one wants to do anything. But the cows need feed and water. My left thigh is feeling puny from hauling myself in and out of the F350 to open gates.
