TXSnowman's Journal, 04 August 2022

So, happily, this past week, I have lost the 2 pounds that I gained on vacation along with an additional 1.2 pounds. I'm now at my lowest weight since August of 2014. Additionally, subcutaneous fat & visceral fat are both down, water, muscle and protein are up. Saw the nephrologist this morning and he told me that I've moved out of Stage 4 CKD back down to Stage 3, so that's promising. Really chuffed about being able to continue to control my weight and even lose weight after changing from a HP/LC diet to a Low Protein diet with increased caloric intake. I'm shooting for 2,000 Kcal of food per day and 3,000 Kcal of exercise. My July averages were 1,981 of food and 3,328 of exercise. Pretty much spot on. Anyway, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, so I'll just keep on with the current methodology until it stops working.
190.0 lb Lost so far: 140.0 lb.    Still to go: 0.1 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

It’s gratifying to accomplish the weight loss, isn’t it? And gotta be double-gratifying that your health has improved so much! Inspires me to know I can do it, too 👍

lightbeing pontifex, I'm pretty confident in my exercise numbers. My doctor measures my BMR via the C02 method and I'm burning right at 1,900 kcal per day just breathing. I usually ride my bike between 25 and 30 miles every morning before breakfast (outdoor biking, not stationary). I'm only going 15 miles per day right now because I'm still rehabbing a broken rib, wrist and thumb that I broke in a bike accident on July 3rd. I usually kayak on our lake 3 days per week for 5 miles each day and I walk the dog in the woods for 1 to 3 miles in the evenings. Last month was a little different because we were in the UK hiking in the woods of Wales, Scotland and England and hiking mountains in Iceland, but we're back home and getting back into the normal routine.
