ShyGuy's Journal, 28 August 2014

I weighed myself, this morning, and the scale read 330 lbs, which I was happy about. However, I then went out to do some work for a family friend; the work entailed transporting and loading up about four dog crates, piecemeal, to go and scrub them at a local car wash. They happened to be in her basement when it flooded, two weeks ago, so they had to be disinfected. They weren't small crates either, as they were for a big dog. I probably went up and down her basement stairs 30 - 40 times, and it feels like fifty, the way my arms and legs feel right now. Of course, I had to unload them and put them back in the basement too. When I got in, after about five hours of working, just out of curiosity, I stepped on the scale again; lo and behold, all that work caused me to drop another two pounds. I had a small breakfast, and no lunch, today, so those were most definately contributing factors. It was like being on a stairmaster for 2+ hours, and then there was the scrubbing. Needless to say, I'm tired, my arms, legs, and back are sore; but as said before, I'll take the loss anyway I can get it. No doubt, I'll be sleeping very well tonight, as I haven't had a workout like that, in years.

If you take baths, take an empsom salt bath (at least 2 cups). That will ease your sore muscles. And you'll sleep better for it. Congrats on the weight loss.

Thanks for the support, and the encouragement. My sore muscles will recover. Inspite of the soreness, and the fact that it's been a while, I'm no stranger to a challenging workout, or work. The way things are going, hopefully, I'll be on the other side of the 300 lb mark, before the holidays begin; and barring any unforeseen slip-ups, will continue to lose as the New Year begins. :-)
