cmj29's Journal, 14 March 2022

I spent the day in the ER today again, it's the 4th time now. Idk😶 what could trigger it. Throwing up and diarrhea for 5 hours is not fun, they gave me 4 bags of fluids and nausea medicine. They said it's gastroenteritis or stomach flu 😷. Has anyone else had this, please advise. I guess I'll have to see a gastroenterologist now🤨

Sounds like a rough trip to the ER- hope you feel better soon! If is stomach flu my MD always recommends staying hydrated & the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Apple Sauce, Toast) which is supposed to be easy on your stomach after gastroenteritis. I do know someone who had to get blood work done and do antibiotics because of a GI infection that looked like stomach flu, so def follow up with your Md.

Gallbladders can cause many issues that are hard to diagnose. I spent 5 years sick with it until I was given a nuclear medicine test, which diagnosed it. Just a thought.

I agree gall bladders are tough to diagnose. Mine wasn’t detected until I had what’s called a hydascan. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of this . I can only imagine how terrible you feel.

I, too, was diagnosed with gall bladder disease by the nuclear testing (looking for ejection fraction, etc). Had it removed as a result. The GI docs are the ones who figured it out for me.

Have you had a CAT scan or MRI? I have a stomach ulcer that landed me in the hospital a few years ago, and some of your symptoms mirror my own. Yes, definitely see a gastroenterologist and don't be afraid of having an endoscopy (easy peasy).
