I have fell off of my diet a bit, then I was roaming around 250-254 for about two or three weeks or so, I felt like I had hit another platue. I got a little discouraged but I am focused again. ....... also, Has any one heard of the HCG diet, I am thinking about trying it. I have my little 800 dollars put aside for a 40 day challenge of eating 500 cals a day. This can be hard but I want to try it so bad. I have heard that you can lose 40-60 pounds in 40 days. I am doing this through my family doctor so it shouldnt be too unhealthy??? hmmmmm share your thoughts please. I am nervous and exited at the same time.

Honestly, I've heard about that diet, and have heard it did bad things to the metabolisms of a lot a people that did it. I'd be careful if I were you, but that is just me. I think slow and steady is healthier, and you are more likely to keep it off long term.

I understand the frustration. I've been there too. I agree with 'cat woman' :) You said it yourself Keara... you fell off the diet a bit. There was still progress though. The issue I have with diets like that is, while they strip off the weight, you don't really learn from them. It's sticking with being careful with your food long term - even after you've lost what you wanted to - that counts.

A few nurses I work with tried it, we figured it was doctor recommend should be okay. But as nurses we should have known better. It worked GREAT at first...but it's not something you can live with forever. They gained all the weight back plus some. Then when they tried to lose weight again it was tough, thier metabolism seemed to work slower than before. I say make a lifestyle change, something you can live with, otherwise a diet just means something short-term and you'll go off it once you reach goal. I lost 30 lbs in 3 months by starting to run (I started with the couch to 5K program), I quit drinking soda, no eating sugar, eating more fruits and vegis, and kept calories around 1500 per day. I have one splurge day a week. I can live with this. You need to find something you can do long-term. But that's just my personal opinion ☺

I worked at a doctors clinic who put people on the HCG diet, and there are many programs out there, but only the ones where you get the shots seems to work. I've only seen a few people succeed on it. Basically, it's supposed to curb your hunger, but I don't think many people had that experience, and once you go back to eating, you gain it all back. Have you looking into the low carb, high fat, moderate protein ketogenic diet? Believe me, I find I can't eat all the food because I feel so full all the time. The HCG diet is very expensive for the small gains you make on losing weight. Save your money to buy new clothes with when you lose your weight on a more sustainable lifestyle change. Truthfully, eating 500 cals a day isn't sustainable for very long and then most go back to binge eating.

I don't have any long term self study to report. I purchased mine through a clinic.. And they were drops from Animed in India. I did a 60 day round and lost 30pounds. I am working on maintaining for the next month before restarting. It has helped my metabolism a lot, and I have lots of difficulty loosing weight with whatever I do.. So this has been fantastic. I was 90 pounds over weight and low thyroid though.. So your results might be very different. It seems like you know within the first week or so if it will work for you. A lot of people don't take seriously the maintenance ...it is vital to keeping weight off. I like the Hcg chica website for info.

Forgot to mention. Most women do not loose more than half a pound per day . Still great, but 20 pounds instead of 40. 800$ seems pretty expensive, but it is great that you have a doc to support you. Feel free to email me if I can answer any querstions.
