The big decision yesterday was whether to go to the grocery store on Sunday, my break/cheat day. I decided to err on the side of activity since it involved a bike trip. I may have overdone the cheating. I stopped at Dunkin' Donuts and had a large frozen latte and an egg benedict sandwich while reading the Sunday newspaper. I was feeling full but I succumbed to temptation and had a bistro meal at Kroger with spaghetti, collard greens, broccoli and cheese, whole wheat roll, and Coke. That took me beyond fullness to bloat. I guess they don't call them cheat days for nothing.

My rationalization is that I've really cut down on my trips to Starbucks and Kroger so this cheat shouldn't put too much of a dent in my diet. I don't know whether it's the Pilates or the diet but my old pants seriously don't fit any more. They literally fall off me without a belt. The next size down is starting to feel loose too. I still haven't seen the increase in core strength I would like to see but I remind myself I've only been doing the Pilates for only two months, half of that for only a half hour. Today is an hour of Pilates and 35 minutes of dumbbells.

I'm grateful we're in a cold spell after several 85-95 days with humidity. This summer, I'm going to invest in a better window fan for the room I exercise in and use the old fan as an exhaust fan in the kitchen in an effort to increase air circulation. I'm also getting a whole room air circulating fan which should lower the temperature five degrees. All this so I don't get discouraged from exercising.
