-sigh- I should have recorded this weigh-in 2 days ago. I guess I was just so upset that I hadn't lost anything and I didn't want to post it for everyone to see. I feel like I've failed somehow... I hope you mean 153 and not 253 because gaining 100 pounds in a week would be terrifying! do not feel like a failure, maintaining is better than gaining and almost as good as losing, you may have hit a reset point which would explain the maintaining.

Your carb intake is a little high. Try to aim to keep your carbs under 150 grams.

Oops! Yeah, I meant 153...lol. And I'm trying to work on lower carbs. I guess I can try things like getting the veggie burger, but no bun...or just a plate of black beans and veggies instead of a taco. Coach, any other suggestions? I don't eat animal products, so a lot of my intake will have carbs in it. Should I cut out some fruit as well?

Are you trying to watch your fat intake? If I were you, I'd give that up. It's very difficult to be on a low fat vegan diet, and there's not really a reason to be. The fats you get from plants are going to be the healthy ones anyway. Once decide not to worry about fat too much, you'll be able to raise your protein intake and lower your carbs more easily if that's what you want to do. For example, nuts have a high fat percentage and also are pretty high in protein. They are also a high calorie food- so you don't have to eat too many to raise your calories. Overall, nuts are very healthy- and filling. Tofu is a little higher on the fat side, but an excellent source of protein. Finally, there are some plants that are much higher in protein than others- edamame, lima beans, spinach and peas come to mind.

k8yk's idea of nuts is great. I personally LOVE almonds. I've found they can get kind of pricey... but if you guy raw almonds in the cooking section they are far cheaper. Also, places like Walgreens (which is usually WAY more expensive) will sometimes have sales on them, or sell their own brand of the canned ones in the snack section!

I'm not trying to watch my fat...i just don't eat foods that have a lot in it. I'm still not at the point where I can eat nuts without feeling horrible(it's mostly the high calorie content) I don't eat them in order to prevent the urge to purge(lol) When I did, I liked walnuts the best :) The cafeteria on campus changes their veggies all the time, and I get lima beans, peas, broccoli, etc. whenever I can. How about guacamole? I know avocados are good sources, and the mexican place on campus has guacamole that is more...avocado-y(?) than others.
