For anyone struggling to break a plateau, victorialynn gave me the good advice of quitting (or at least really slowing down) my workouts for a week and then starting back up after that. I did. It felt counter-productive, but I watched what I ate, and didn't gain any weight last week. I started back yesterday morning with my regular exercise routine, and I'm down a pound after just one day. I hope this helps someone who's ready to beat their head against a wall.

I'm glad it worked for you too! But try to resist the urge to over do it.

I have found that its sometimes a good idea to quit working out for at least one week. Just take a break and stop. Use the time that you would usually be working out to do some other activity that keeps you out of the house and active as well. But I find that if you allow your body a week to recover and heal you get more results and you definitely see more results because your muscles are not all swore and swollen. Trust me the results will motivate you to go at it again. If you are uncomfortable at first it does not have to be a whole week it can be 3 days and you vary accordingly. I usually plan it around the time of my menses which is when I cant work out anyway. Try it and let me know.
