I've decided weighing in daily is not good for me. I practically starved myself for the last 2 days just bc I gained a pound back one day this week. I should've been happy just to lose the 4lbs I had already lost before that but instead I obsessed over that one pound. Weekly weigh-ins starting today, I'm going to set a goal of 2-3lbs a week if I lose more than that cool but I'm not going to obsess over losing 6lbs instead of 5.
212.6 lb Lost so far: 6.4 lb.    Still to go: 42.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 7.0 lb a week

I'm allergic to frequent weigh-ins, too. I get an extremely negative reaction (binge) when the scale goes up and seem to forget the pounds I previously loss. I'm weighing once a month now and when I'm ready I will start a weekly weigh-in. I am focusing on two things: 1. my food diary and knowing that I'm sticking to my eating plan and 2. reading how others deal with normal fluctuations. For example, one member reports that if she eats after 6:00 p.m., the scales go up the next morning. Good luck.

@mnturtle, I like that, maybe a 7-day moving average? My daily weight fluctuations are crazy and, yes, are beginning to be frustrating. Eating well, and staying the course should be enough in the long term. I suppose exercice can't be bad.

I keep weighing myself too. And the numbers drive me crazy. I’m thinking about throwing away my scale but when I see the numbers drop I feel better. Also take in mind that maybe you might be swollen or have a lot of water weight. When I walk a lot, go outside in the hot weather, and in a long car drive my feet swell and the scale goes up by 10 pounds. Don’t get discouraged. If you were able to lose 4lbs then you can always get rid of that one pound.

I've been there. And while I prefer daily weigh-ins and averaging them for the most accurate weekly weight over time, it's also enough to weigh in once a week to stay on track and probably better mentally for some.

you know it's not worth stressing about I am a yo-yo but weighing in once a week is doable and should work fine good luck

I weigh once a week. The daily changes up or down mean nothing if you are being honest with yourself and how much you eat. Real weight loss takes time and not something that happens overnight or even over a matter of days.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I'm glad I'm not the only one taunted by the scale lol

Taunted is the perfect word. I weigh weekly as well. I was really tempted to weight this morning because I "feel" like I lost weight, but I've fallen into that trap before. I did not take the bait!

It's definitely hard I almost weighed myself this morning but I didn't bc even though I did really well with my calories yesterday If the scale went up even the slightest I'd probably be upset. I need to get my head right so I'm hoping weighing in weekly will keep me from being so depended on my scale lol.
