My mom was in the hospital. The smell helped me not eat for a couple of days. Not suggesting this is a good idea all the time; however I think it is okay to reset the clock every once in a while. Also all the talk of diabetes and her having her toe aputated really set in with what is okay to put in my mouth. I have insulin resistant diabetes. Lucky me. I really need to meet with a diabetic specialist. I won't read all the material on my own. I am a better auditory learner. Not that my mother's situation should gross me out, but it is a good reality buster. This was her third surgery. All of her problems are from her untreated diabetes for the past 25 years. I am fond of my toes and feet. I have been looking for more yellow vegetables to eat. I also read that exercise helps rid the body of unused insulin..which I have plenty. I am hoping my walking 5 days of week will pay off when I have my blood tests taken again. I am trying to decide to through out clothes that are too bagging or if I am being premature in my success. My numbers aren't really going down, my size is still though. I have to watch my fluid intake. I will go all day with out water or anything to drink if I don't make it a habbit of leaving a glass of water on the counter in the kitcher, dresser in the bedroom, coffee table and my desk. Seems goofey, however necessary. I will have MRI and cat scan of my neck this week to decide what are options for my "pain in the neck". I had lunch with a good friend last week. Always helpful to see someone I haven't in a while. This helps me know if I have changed in appearance. I received a positive response. Still working on cutting the carbs and increasing protein. These food journals isspay me off when I see the distribution of fat, protein and carbs! I guess that means they are working!!!
