welcome back weight loss :) It is really interesting the wild fluctuations in weight from day to day doing IF; it looks like a graph of the stock market LOL. The rises and dips seem ridiculous at times from one day to the next, but still very interesting as it allows some self analysis of what specifically causes the ups and downs. the important thing is to realise its mostly fluid, and so long as the overall trend is moving downwards its all good. I know my major increases come from drinking, not that I drink a huge amount as I used to, but just socially. Ive realised that it's not only the 'empty' calories in alcohol, but it then dehydrates you so your body retains water, and whammo your weight goes up. I know most of you know this, and in something Im a slow learner, but its interesting that sometimes even though you know something to be true you have to experience it for yourself to really KNOW it, when its like a light bulb going on. Does it make me want to give up my Bourbon, or NZ Sauvignon Blanc? Hell no. Life is for living isn't it? and whats the point in all this sacrifice to lose weight and be more healthy and live longer if you can't have a life? Hope everyone has a good day, or night, depending where they are in the world.

First of all .... well done on the weight loss!!!!!!! Interesting what Bill said. I am due a whoosh loss from the fluid in the fat cells as well. My body is good at hanging on to those. I bought some keto sticks as I am eating low carb. I wanted to see when I got in ketosis. One way to tell is there is a strong smell in the urine. TMI, I know but important. I have been doing low carb for three weeks and I finally am in ketosis! Yehawww! This means ... I am in the fat burning mode. Well, honey chile, I am overdue some weight loss! :)

congrats on ketosis, I did do the low carb/atkins style diet with protein shakes etc a few years back under a naturopath and TBH I did have a lot of success, I dropped about 20KG from memory, sadly it was one of those things I let slip, found too hard in the long term and slowly slipped back into old habits. I do know lots of people that have done really well with it though, and we all know carbs and sugar are the real culprits so any eating plan that eliminates, or reduces them has got to be good. One of the things that was good, or bad depending on your point of view was if you slipped up you then went out of ketosis so it was a three day haul to get back into it. While this did help make you think twice before OD'ing on carbs, it was a bit of a pain too. I think you are going great and I do hope you see the differences soon; I know when I was right into it I was losing a kilo a week, every week.

Glad you were able to welcome "weight loss" back into the week! And yes, definitely enjoy life, it's much too short to not embrace!

Steve I basically just don't eat wheat, corn, rice, oats or any other grains. I don't go by Atkins. Atkins is too strict. I guess you could say I am more of a "Wheat Belly" advocate or Primal Blueprint as I don't eat hardly any prepackaged foods. It just happens that it is low carb. I have been trying VERY hard to stay away from white potatoes. Love them! :)

Congrats on getting back into weight loss mode. I love my wine and was always convinced that if I had a glass of wine I couldn't lose weight. I have certainly changed my mind lately. It was my high carb diet that was keeping me from losing weight. I now have a glass of wine and enjoy it - keep my carbs low and my scale is moving down. Love it. HOpe you have a wonderful day!
