Ok, my weight has just gone up a little. I think that, before I start to eat more, I have to be sure that I'm actually losing weight :) This can be my "maintaining" number of calories so I have to try to maintain it for sometime and see whether my weight is actually going down or just keeping steady.

edit: Here it is Doublecheese, the study I was talking about concerning meats and processed meats:

This is completely unrelated and more important for women (for obvious reasons):

I think being healthy (food-wise) all boils down to, not eating refined sugar, processed foods, too much saturated fats and making sure you are not nutrient deficient, or that you don't eat too much of something.

edit continuing with my journal:

considering that I've eaten around 1640 calories yesterday and it looks like my weight is stabilizing, and considering also that I was losing weight when I weight trained by eating around 1850 calories, I think that the weight training's after-burn effect was probably burning around 300/400 calories a day, if not more. It's possible that it was burning even more considering that I wasn't doing aerobic exercise every single day like I am now. I have to try to stabilize the number of calories I eat every day, which is kind of hard but not as hard as when I was eating refined sugars. Once I get to the point where I stabilize, I will start doing calisthenics and see how the weight goes down.

edit:

I have been eating throughout the day but have just been listing it. I will log it later heheh.

Yesterday I've tasted the tastiest apple I've tasted in a long time, but today, I've also tasted the tastiest orange I've tasted in a long time. This can't be a coincidence. I think that my taste buds are changing. They are probably getting more sensitive to sugar now that they're not getting it as much as they were before.

As for the sweet cravings. I would say they're about the same as yesterday. There is still desire for sweets though not as powerful as in the first days. I'm still salivating at the mere thought of sweets... This is day 6. There are 8 days missing for my primary goal. I still don't know if I'm going to be able to go through with it since I have the feeling that I just turned my back on more than half the tasty foods I used to eat lol. The unexpected bonus of healthier food starting to taste better is great though and I've seen more sources saying the desire for sweets eventually completely goes away. That would be awesome!

There are some other symptoms that I feel (some of which I'm not sure if I'm imagining or not) but anyway. I used to feel bloated and, in the last few days, I feel like my bowels are completely empty, no gas or anything. I I feel no pressure and complete comfort now. It's a feeling I haven't had for many many years and I never thought I would have it again since I thought it was normal for this age to feel all bloated and uncomfortable. This one is definitely not imaginable.

I have the feeling my hair looks better since I stopped eating sugar. It looks like shinier and healthier, but I may be imagining this...

Also my memory seems to be working better but this may also be a product of my imagination. Suggestion is very powerful and we cannot underestimate it heheh.

As it gets later in the day, I have been having a feeling of tension in my head as if I was about to get a headache but the headache hasn't manifested. This one isn't imagined for sure :)

I have been watching for less fatigue and drowsiness since that is an expected result of abandoning great quantities of sugar. While it is definitely true that I feel less drowsy during the day (no drowsiness at all compared to a significant drowsiness previously to this challenge), I can't seem to feel special differences in fatigue although I must say that it is common for me to feel fatigued, lacking energy, and I haven't felt like that since I started (although it is true that I don't normally "always" feel fatigued).

All in all, I think the possible benefits of quitting sugar are definitely worth the supposedly temporary suffering. If the improvements are as people say, then that is worth a try at least.

edit: I feel like eating sweets soooo much right now! lol I suddenly just got this very intense desire for sweets similar to those in the first days. I hope this will subside again. I just ate a piece of dried apricot to mitigate the craving lol.
