Am trying something a little different. I make my food for the day in the morning which is normal, but then logging it right away. I'm finding it useful to know where I'll be at at the end of the workday rather than just winging it and thinking I'll adjust what I eat later.

I did it yesterday in the morning and then during the day I found some yummy bagels left out at work. Knowing where I'd be on calories later in the day motivated me to skip them.

Another thing I might try is calculating all my food before I eat it. Seems to make sense to do this rather than eating the food and then finding out later how many calories are in it.

Oh for sure!! I often pre-log stuff so that I know where I will be later in the day. I like to know how much wiggle room I have for dinner, etc. And there are lots of times I will enter things prior to eating them just to see where it puts me and often will say no, or cut back on the amount (1/2 instead of 1 whole portion) if I don't like what the "charts" say. I'm teaching my brother about this and he found out the HARD way the other day that you should look up the chocolate hazelnut milkshake BEFORE buying and consuming it. Here he is regretting it a week later (I'm not feeling that bad for him since he's lost 5lbs, but you get the drift anyway).

Sometimes even doing a little research on your options before making a choice is totally helpful. I don't know what I would do without my android app. I'm trying to be better about planning out my days as well too! Take it in stride. I'm also finding that I need to eat more frequently so I have been aiming to get in like 6 200-300 calorie meals, I don't know why I have been so ravenous, but it seems to be helping.
