ugg, no workouts this past weekend. Did the daddy daycare thing all day Saturday so no chance to get out. Ate okay on Saturday, then not great for the Packer game on Sunday though I wouldn't call it a disaster. Back on track today (sort of). We're kind of the go to place for family get togethers and football games because we have a nice house for it. I usually make the main course and let the rest take care of itself but I wonder if I should take charge for the Superbowl get together and insist on a healthy menu. I'm finding more and more that if I want to eat healthy and properly, I'm going to have to take complete responsibility for it. As it should be I guess and a good lesson to learn.

Family gatherings are really tough. My family has been really supportive so I have that going for me. But they have come to realize that when Carly is "in da house" that the meals are going to be either two-fold (one kind for them and one kind for me) or we're just gonna eat "Carly's way" and that they won't starve and I will feel good. I help make it easy by doing the cooking when it's "Carly style" and they have found that they really LIKE what I make. I need to send you my "magic taco" recipe/idea. It is always awesome for any/everyone because you can make them and then let everyone make as many as they want and use whatever ingredients that you put out....and you can make yours as healthy and as few as you like. Hey, your house, your rules. And another reason is you will be setting a good eating example for the kiddos. I will be sending recipes soon! Guaranteed crowd pleasers!

The in-laws want to do a Chili-dump. I think if I make that stew thing you mentioned that would be a good alternative. I'm putting my foot down on the dump thing though. I like the idea of having multiple types of chili to try. There's no way that if I put effort into making something good that I'm going to mix it with a bunch of other stuff that may or may not be good.

oh eegads!! I would feel the same way!! And the recipe- which I JUST scanned....would NOT go well with ANY chili of any kind. I have a GREAT bean-less chili recipe but don't have it with me at the moment...it uses barley as it's carb addition and cubed steak chunks not hamburger. It's delicious!
