Today's my fiancee's birthday so this evening we have something planned. *Cough* an Oreo dream extreme cheesecake slice from the cheesecake factory and some fried calamari/shrimp with our favorite pasta dishes from our favorite Italian restaurant *cough*. I'm well aware this will be over our daily calorie intake, but even after my birthday in July we got right back on track and still came out with an overall loss. To kind of counter balance, I'm fasting most of the day until tonight. Intermittent fasting seems to work best for me. Especially in cases like this where I know I'm going to indulge.

Balance though. Part of me screams "your progress though!" the other part of me "it's okay to indulge time to time, it's just not okay everyday". Being that the first part of me lead me down a path I shouldn't have gone down last time I dropped the weight, I'm listening to the latter. I've also gone by the latter this whole time and lost ~8 pounds, at my weight it isn't something to ignore.
164.4 lb Lost so far: 9.6 lb.    Still to go: 14.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 3.5 lb a week

The key is that you have a PLANNED event and are making food choice adjustments to include this wonderful sounding one off meal. Portion control, moderation, healthier eating most of the time less healthy choices once in a while is the king of long term weight control while still having a real life. Enjoy your day without regret.

That's an excellent plan and definitely the way to do it! You need to indulge to be able to stick with it and you are reserving calories for it. It's all about balance! Happy birthday to your fiance! I'm impresseed that you said a slice instead of the whole cheesecake. ;) Have fun!

Thank you! It was all delicious. My entree was huge. I didn't realize how much food was in it. I barely made a dent in it and will have lunch/dinner for days! The slices this time are gonna last 2 days probably. But no way we can do it in one sitting.
