Last night I ate like a pig, a very big meal and and I even ate too much ice cream (which I normally don't), etc etc. although I'm on weight training recovery phase, it doesn't seem to make much sense how I woke up today with much less weight and the belly significantly reduced.

"The scales LIE" (You can't fool mother nature) If we "cheat" then weigh in the next morning, and don't gain, it gives us a false sense of relief like we "got away with it" but the scales don't know if what you ate was 1/2 pound of watermelon or a 1/2 pound of butter. You can't know how badly a "cheat" hurts you until probably 2-3 days later when your body is finished processing it. As they say, you can't fool mother nature. Everything counts - everything adds up. The reaction to what the scales tell you if you weigh too much can be "I got away with it - I'll eat more" or it could be "Oh, no! the scales went up when I was really careful, so why try?" and also eat more. Moral to the story - never trust the scale - trust that whatever you have eaten will count - or whatever you have resisted will earn you progress, regardless of what the scale might say. To find the true story as to why your weight went up or down go back three days and see what you ate that day.

Your comment makes a lot of sense and I agree with it. It was just that, it's not every day that I wake up weighing half a kilo less and with such a visible difference when looking down at my belly. But I have to admit that you're right. If I keep eating like I ate yesterday, I would definitely start gaining weight! heheh. What you say about going back 3 days, that would definitely explain it since, in the last 3 days, I have been on a lower than usual calorie regime. Thanks very much for the imput!
