Happy Day Friday!

I made my goal for 10/3, for my gastro doc appointment! I wanted to be 220 and I am 217! So, either I lose a little more or maintain! I can deal with that. :-)

I am going to be super careful with what I eat, & keep up my exercising, which I rocked out this week.

In other news, my SIL went back to her abusive hubby on Wed. We are all less than thrilled, of course. She is an adult. We can't stop her. We told her it was her choice and that she needs to accept and understand the consequences of that choice. She knows there will not be another dramatic rescue. I told her to make sure she has the domestic hotline number easily available for when she needs to go to a shelter. She says she has it and is prepared for that. (Telling, right?)

Damn, she didn't even have the decency to tell her rescue friends that she was going back. She didn't even text them a goodbye or thank you once I told her I told them. The family told her we won't forgive him. She keeps saying he has changed, but in the next breath he told her she is not allowed to hug her male cousin because he doesn't like how long they hug. She is delusional.

Thankful:
Back to routine, and it's my friend

Goals:
Exercise tomorrow morning before E and I do an errand and before I see my family for a late breakfast. Have a great Spike day Sunday and be super aware all next week. Keep up my exercise routine. Try to get back to my 10 mins fit boarding.

Positive Thoughts:
I feel on top of the world. I love the happy that comes off me in waves.

Good work, keep it up! 🌈🌈🌈 I'm sorry to hear about your SIL, I used to work for a Crisis Hotline, and I could never understand why women went back. I hope she finds the strength one day to leave for good.

Doing amazing with all that turmoil around you.

Shirfleur - I think it is because they truly think it will change, partially blame themselves and will take more accountability than they should, don't want to face the fear of failing at marriage, afraid to be alone, have shared asessts, financially insecure, or attached to their other's family.

ABT, yes all that and the total lack of self esteem, because it has been beaten out of them, either physically or emotionally (or both). So very sad.

Sad that your SIL went back, hope she doesn't pay for her decision . . .

Thanks JC, Tribe, Tat, Shir, Sarah, and GZ! It is sad that she is going back. I don't think she can handle being alone (she needs almost constant attention), another failed marriage, and the loss of her step daughter. He is on disability, so they are together 24/7. I think she is willing to look over the negative to have that. She blames his jealousy and anger on his mental illness. She thinks his new med regime has changed him (one he has been on for less than a month!). She is believing the fairy tale. I told her that if she really believes that, tell him she was going to see a movie w my husband, & a mutual guy friend of theirs from teen days. She said she couldn't do that because he would lose his mind. I said, then he hasn't changed, and it is a matter of time until she is back to being so thin that her organs start shutting down again and he starts to hurt her again. We all told her that this is probably the last time we will see her because he won't let her travel back up here to visit by herself. She thinks that he will let her come up in Nov for a weekend. We shall see, but none of us think the odds are good.

She should have at least mandated that he go to counseling. Well...let's hope for the best.

Nice job, Jessa! I'll never understand going back to or ever staying in an abusive relationship but my mom did that my whole life. It was terrible to grow up around. If my husband ever did that, I'd be gone just to never ever put my kids through the torture of seeing their mom get beat up. Thankfully he would never hurt me. 🤍

I think she is hoping the hell out of it enough for all of us, Tribe. I don't get it either, DP. The first time he hit her was before they got married. They were together less than a year at that point. Smdh.
