Didn't expect to see this drop. I'll have to write more later. Busy Monday.

I wonder if dairy products are making me phlegmy. So far today I've had yogurt for breakfast and gorgonzola cheese with cantaloupe and a little cheese on my steak sandwich for lunch. I'm having to cough and clear my throat every few seconds. Thank goodness I work at home alone -- it's the kind of thing that would probably drive co-workers crazy. Yuck! Tomorrow I'll try to avoid dairy and note what happens.

I'm going to post whatever random diet-related thoughts or activities I have throughout this day.

Waiting in line at the grocery store yesterday, I took note of what the family ahead of me was buying. It was all the stuff that I used to put in my cart just a few months ago: white saltine crackers, cookies, rolls, boxes of cereal. It's convenient, and I used to think it was tasty and filling. I would actually enjoy a sweet roll even now. But thank heavens, I don't have that frantic and urgent craving any more. Is it psychological or is it physical? I do believe that less refined flour and sugar in my system is keeping me from being a junk food junkie.

Your weight history looks great! Your chart has such a nice even drop. Do you have a dairy sensitivity? It sounds like it. I know what you mean about going to the grocery and seeing what people have in their cart. It especially bugs me when they have children. It's hard to see children be fed junk food.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I have a friend that I desprately would love to help in the healthier grocery shopping area, but she doesn't want the help, and I can't force her without being insulting. So I just sigh, but it's so hard to watch now that I've changed my own habits. Knowing she could spend the same amount of money or less on better food, but... ahh don't get me started :) Oh, and yes dairy will make mucus work overtime. Like if my kids have a cold I avoid giving them dairy because it seems to make either more mucus or mucus production thicker, hence more coughing and congestion, and icky noses, LOL!

Thanks, Rune! I am using your chart as my role model ;) Hunny, interesting about your kids having colds that get worse with dairy. I wonder if that's just cow's milk or would that include goat's milk? As for people buying crap for their kids... well, I was guilty of that when my daughter was a kid 20 years ago, but unless you make it a point to read about nutrition, you really don't know. You have this blind trust that what's on the shelf at the store shouldn't really be all that bad for you. And 20 years ago, nobody knew how bad this crap really is. And it's still being sold, sometimes even under the guise that it's good for you!
