Hump Day!

It was 4 games of Parcheesi last night, not 3! :-) And I won 2! Well, my sister and I won 2 because we are partners. Credit where credit is due. It was a great time with family.

I met my simple goal yesterday so yay me! Sometimes you need a low bar just for the dopamine release. :-)

Tonight is brainstorming w SIL's friends, DD & her BF (N) about SIL. I don't know what kind of solution we can come up with, but I know it is making her friends feel better.

E and I already exercised, and Subway for dinner before the "meeting". I just got to decide if I want a sandwich and salad or one or the other. Quandaries.

Thankful:
E & I live in the woods. No one wants to live with us.

Goals:
Do my fit board on lunch & stay calm at the "meeting". Most of all, show no doubt. I am not my SIL's or 1 of her friend's favorite people. (understatement of the year). I do not want to get E involved in family drama because he feels he must protect me.

Positive thoughts:
A stressful night cannot derail me. OMAD is my friend. :-)

OMG your thankful made me chortle. I have a spare room, but I'm far enough that no one wants to stay with me either! So, I'm kinda the same, thankful for the space, thankful no one over-stays!

Yes! And to think the original plan was to buy the house from his parents. That was such a bullet dodged!

When I came in recovery, I learned how to stay on my side of the street. previously, I was getting involved in my daughter's marriage, trying to control my husband and in general, just be the director of the play. (Got that from our book) I learned how to pause when agitated, not go to every argument I was invited to, and in general stay in my own hula hoop. Since then, I've lost my husband to cancer, lost my sister to accidental of, lost my father to dementia and thank God for my children and grandchildren. if they ask me for help, I make suggestions otherwise, I let them live their own lives. I have to work on me because I still have alot of character defects that are trying to get out of my closet. just do the best you can honey don't let people upset you it's not worth it.

You are def right, Clairsheart! I am going to go for neutral and keep my mouth shut. I will let E and DD pull the doubt train if necessary, and hopefully I can keep a resting neutral face the whole time. It is a little pointless, as she is 700 miles away. If she wants to stay, we can't stop her. The whole meeting will come down to how E's dad will react and if he is in the mood to call her or not. E's dad is 900 miles away, and 700 miles away from SIL.

"Sometimes you need a low bar just for the dopamine release." 💗💗 @QuirkyNat...same here, spare room and just far enough to not have visitors. @Jessa...you teach me to be very grateful for the little things! I admire your perspective so much.
