Naiomy's Journal, 24 April 2012

Good morning FS!... ok.. haven't journaled in a few days.. so here's something i noticed this week.

So i decided to go ahead and weigh in every day, regardless of what i did. I took it pretty easy on myself calories wise on friday night and saturday, and my cheat day sunday only consisted of one amazing meal of rice vermicelli noodles and grilled beef tossed with fresh veggies and basil from the vietnamese restaurant i love and steamed shrimp dumplings.

So monday morning, I was up to 179.4.. a 6.4 jump from my low on friday morning, but oddly i wasn't panicked. i didn't have much of an appetite yesterday, so my day consisted of my skinny cappuccino with a double shot, skipped my shake b/c i wasn't in the mood, and had a great dinner with the GF (cooked up some wilted fresh spinach tossed in garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauteed some chicken breast chunks in cooking spray, that were marinated in garlic powder, lemon juice and capers, tossed in a bunch of steamed broccoli and mixed up a few wedges of laughing cow cheese). I also nibbled on my kids dinner (fried breaded chicken breast chunks and seasoned fried ..shhhh don't tell)... oh, and of course my 12 cups of water...

this morning, weighed in at 175.8... this is the second week in a row that the scale has given me an overnight massive drop.. i'm sure it comes from finally understanding how much water my body needs a day ... so right now i'm 2.8 lbs up from my low and i have almost the whole week!...

really hoping to see a new low by this weekend... :)

That's so awesome that you are figuring out all of these trends!! Seeing the correlation between food decisions/water consumption/activity level and weight is so helpful. Knowledge is power!! Keep it up, can't wait to see you at your new low!! :)

@erika thank you!... i used to be a weekly weigh in person but ur right.. knowledge is power.. i'm learning NOT to be scared of the scale, and to identify how different thing affect my body... it has seriously helped me stay on point for the most part... i feel that after a week its hard to identify what i've done different and just get frustrated if after a whole week i lose 1/2 a lb.. where now if i lose half a pound i'm excited lol... its just a race to be lower than where i was!

Well and when you weigh in only once a week, there are so many factors that could give you a 'false' reading, and I think that could be so discouraging. I generally weigh myself every day, but I don't always take the time to log it.. It's great that you have such a better relationship with your body and your scale. :)

I agree... the nights before my friday weigh in were the worst hoping i didn't do the wrong thing that might cause the scale to not show all the work i'd done in the week. and it really was hard to decipher what the reason for the scale to be up or down was. i knew i retained water like mad so for me my solution was drink drink drink.. the scale started stalling.. so i decided to drink a little less.. 12-15 cups a day vs the 21 cups i was doing.. and the scale started moving again... i don't mind the fluctuations like i used to .. my mind set is to be either steady or lower than the end of the prior week. plus i take tons of pics lol
