I gained about 75 lbs with my son. I stay at home with him as well. I didn't want to leave the house after I had him because I no longer had the excuse of being pregnant to justify my weight. But the best thing I did was just bite the bullet and go out. There is a great walking trail in our town, and when it rained we went to the mall and walked indoors. I refused to let myself make excuses for not exercising. I lost 30 lbs easily while I was nursing, and I've lost 50 in the past year. I was diabetic too, which makes it harder, but there are too many women that do a lot better than I did about gaining weight! I'm definitely not going to gain that much again whenever we decide to have another child. Just decide to hold yourself accountable and follow through. You can do it. :-)

Thank you for the inspiration. It's hard for me to talk about this with my friends because they all are skinny and could wear their regular clothes after they had their kids. My mom and sister always try to ack like they understand but they too are very thin. It's nice to talk to people who understand what I am going through. Thank you!

hi there, i just want you to know that you do have people here that will try to be a support for you. i don't have a lot of weight to lose, but i know what its like to have people around you that are skinny and always think they need to lose weight, its disheartening when you yourself know you have too. I don't think i'm overweight, i'm just trying to get back into my clothes again :) its a good goal i think. I gained about 20 pounds in a matter of a couple months...big move, depression...who really knows why. I am also a stay at home mom, and yes, its hard when you are surrounded with food and get bored. I also have a hard time b/c with my two kids and husband who doesn't need to worry about his weight, its extra hard cooking for them and giving them snacks, when i have to be careful. it doesn't seem fair. But don't get too down on yourself. Weigh in maybe once a week and go day by day. i didn't jump in with diet and exercise, b/c i don't like to do either. i am in the groove now with my eating habits, so maybe now i'll try to get out walking, or working out a little. its small goals that make it achievable. you can do it mommys_angels :) we are here rooting for ya!!!
