Ate an Atkins bar. It was too sweet and I didn't really want it but I am unmotivated at work and feeling under the weather and there is some kind of Indian pastry in the work kitchen that smells really good and bleah, I just want to go home and curl up. Is wanting to run away from home a mid-life crisis?

Oh dear, sorry to hear you are not feeling well. You had been feeling better? I personally like the Atkins bars but they are very sweet and I really don't think they are that healthy for you. Hope your day has gone better and that you found something better to eat and that gave you comfort. Hope you didn't end up running away from home!

I have been much better in general. Fighting something off this week, so far successfully. Lots of folks out though. I'm home with the darling DH (our 28th anniv Sat) and feeling good about the weekend (I am off Fridays). Haven't run away yet but oh I have dreams. LOL

Sorry you're not feeling well. I love the Atkins bars, too! I pop one in the freezer at work every morning and eat it at 3:00 pm, which gives me something to look forward to. I was worried that they would cause me to stall, but as far as I can see, they don't. Hope you're feeling better!

OMG putting the Atkins bar in the freezer - probably makes it even more deliciious. Thanks - not - lol. I didn't find they made me stall either, really, but I did find they made me want more. You know the old thought - well, if I can get away with one, and they are only 3 or 4 carbs, maybe I can have another? With that kind of mentality I have to stay away from them. But I love the coconut Endulge bar - and I can just imagine what it would taste like really, really cold from the freezer. @Rowanfair - I hope you feel better and enjoy your anniversary on Saturday. Why do you want to run away - do you want to run away with DH? Hope so. Enjoy your Friday off.

I think I want to run away because after 19-1/2 years at the same job it is changing and going in a direction I'm not liking much. I certainly don't want to run away for long without the DH but he steadfastly refuses to visit the tropics (after one too hot trip to Hawaii when our daughter was young. And my current "run away" fantasy is a Spanish class in Costa Rica on the beach at Samara - Spanish in the morning and yoga in the afternoon at Intercultura. So I may take a separate holiday come April after our fiscal-year-end craziness at work. Unless they make me take holiday before the end of the year as I have like 4 weeks accrued. In which case I may have to run away earlier which I'd rather not do given would be high season.
