Debbie Cousins's Journal, 27 July 2023

Surgery went fine. Getting the IV in, not so good. Took 2 nursed and a doctor, and four needle jabs, 3 of which were in my hands, which are super pain sensitive.

I cam relate to the sticks. Both my arms are bruised from all the iv sticks and blood draws from my recent 9-day stay in hospital. Hey, I had total knee replacement of both knees in 2013. It is SO worth it. You will love being pain free after recovery.

Well, that's a relief. Now for the healing. I hope that goes just right.

So sorry about the painful jabs. They used ultrasound to locate the vein and insert the needle when I was in the hospital, saved having to guess and jab. Glad everything else went well! 💚💛💜

Year of health, how did your surgery go??? shirfleur , they used the ultrasound with me, too, but it showed nothing. Thanks for thinking of me, everyone! Things are still going well, except I threw up part of the little bit of hospital food I ate for dinner

Sorry about the IV hassle and the upset tummy. Glad the surgery is over and will keep praying for your pain level and mobility. You are quite a soldier. I'm proud of you.

I'm glad to hear it went well except that you were a pin cushion! I hate when that happens! Hopefully you'll be on the mend quickly and will feel lots better!

That part is almost always horrid! When they ask me if I have any allergies...I say "to needles"....which arm do you want this in..."yours"...nobody listens to me. So glad this is done and wish you a speedy recovery!

Surgery was a little over 9 hours but it took them 3.5 hours to come out of the proposal anasthesia so wound up in surgical center from 7:30 till 11 pm. I dont remember that night. Im incredibly sore everywhere. Back, bum, arms, tummy. Crazy what i did to myself in the name of vanity. Sure i will be happy by Xmas but right now i just hurt.

Aww, Yearofhealth 2023. Sounds like you’re really suffering! Remember, the pain is only temporary, then comes the reward!
