Went totally crazy over the weekend, so I'm hitting it all pretty hard today. This won't be my life, but I need a day of highly restricted intake to get myself back on track. This is as much a mental thing about discipline as it as a physiological thing about weight.

It's been two weeks in a row that I've been teetering back and forth about doing well. I knew the week of surgery would be bad and that I wouldn't track my food, and I was back on track last week, but for whatever reason, I bombed the weekend. I have to get myself back where I was or I'm going to find myself in exactly the same place I was last June when I lost all the weight and used my gallbladder surgery and then summer as an excuse to let myself totally go and gain it all back. That cannot happen this time. I've got to get on the rails well before summer comes. I know that when schools out will be the hardest time of the year; the lack of schedule, the total availability of food (and of food I shouldn't eat too much of), and the (ironic) limited availability of exercise can wreak havoc. The closer I am to my goal when I get there, the less likely I am to bomb yet another summer.

Or that's my theory.

So today is going to suck, and I know it's probably the wrong thing to do, but it feels right to me now. Tomorrow I'll be back to normal.

P.S.
Tried the elliptical for the first time post-surgery today. Wasn't too uncomfortable. I didn't got as fast as usual, and I did much longer rest intervals, which I think was good. I think I'll persist in this pattern for a week or so and up the ante every week or so until I can get back to where I was. Still no weights for another 4 weeks. That's going to totally suck, but I'm not willing to undo all the good that surgery did for shape just to get back to it faster.
