Ok, as the first official journal entry on here. I am getting emotional, and I think I have been eating those emotions this past week...because my baby is starting school tomorrow!!! His first day at big boy school!!! I am happy, but sad...Oh, heck...I don't know what I am feeling... :( But I do know I have been over eating (so far not gained any weight back, but still eating to much...)

Ok I am on the "other side" all of my kids are grown up and moved out.. I remember those times of saying "good bye" for the first time, Sorry to say it does not get any better with each good bye.. (sending our kids off to college was very hard).. but it is worth it..I am not trying to depress you .. I promise.. It is ok with what you are feeling.. happy, and sad.. that is natural..your little baby is on their first steps to, yikes, adulthood... With comfort food.. what are you eating? I find that at times, I feel like that I am not really hungry but I feel the need to 'munch on something, due to looking for comfort, or nerves..... I use to eat 4 to 6 little debbie's -- now.. instead of eating that.. I am eating salad's (Ok I basically go thru 5 to 7 bags of family size bags of salad in a week)... If you feel like you need that sweetness... you might want to look into fiber One products.. but limit yourself.. Yes, I eat fiber One products.. instead of Little Debbies.. but I eat only one at a time ( you might see more than one at a sitting.. but that is due to the fact that my days have really weird hours.. and I am just recording it.. not necessarily eating them at that particular time..)... Anyway, good luck tomorrow.. hang in there, be good to yourself..... and well welcome to the forums...

Thanks for the comment, I was actually craving the salty snacks. So I ate almost 2 whole bags of this snack called Veggie Straws. It's slightly healthier than regular potato chips but not much. For my sweet cravings I've been adding a starbucks powdered mocha mix to my advocare meal replacement shakes. Or eating some fruits...I did slip up and eat a couple of honey buns. The reason I'm upset with myself lol, is because I was doing so well with the low carb diet, but this past week I just literally could not help myself. It was like I seen it and it HAD to be eaten, because my mouth would water and I would obsess over the food item until I had ate it. For me that was just kinda scary, I've never felt that way before... :/

Hoosier436 and I are in the same boat. And now I have said good bye to all my grandchildren as they go off to school for the first day. Believe it or not, it was a LOT more emotional to say good bye to the grandchildren than it was to the children. Go figure. But it does get easier. I have been craving French fries a lot but so far have been able to resist the temptation. I munch on a FEW BBQ pork rinds instead. Gets me over the edge. Good luck to you in your challenge.
