kmunson's Journal, 02 December 2013

Saturday we spent a lot of time in stores trying to kill time before our daughter's basketball game after having to check out of our hotel room. One place we went to was a small Sears store. My hubby found a treadmill he fell in love with for about $900 normally supposedly $1600. Now this sucker is HUGE! it folds up...but it would still take the room of a normal sized couch at least. I have told him we don't have the room in our house for anything like this. We are already bursting at the seams with stuff in the house. Why does he not get this? Besides the fact that with the other Christmas shopping I need to do I don't have that much money to spend on something for just the two of us. (I already bought him his Christmas present in September, a rolling tool chest with upper cabinet also. This was to get some of the clutter OUT of my house and in an organized cabinet in the garage). Now buying another thing to clutter the house seems like a counterproductive step. This Christmas is going to drive me crazy!

Oh but K - it is on SALE!! :) LOL I know what you mean - I try and try to get the clutter gone but it never happens no matter what i do. Just use the heck out of it and as you get smaller, there will be more space :)

oh yeah...he thinks we will use it all the time...therefore it is worth the inconvenience and eyesore that it will be in my living room!

lol! I used to have a treadmill in my living room... whew never again! Do everything possible to convince your husband NO. Fake a heart attack in the check out line lol. It won't get used, I can promise you that. When it's always there, then you will always use it 'later'.

That is what I think...it will get used for a month maybe. Then it will sit there taking up space. My sister has one in her dining room. I think it gets dusted only. That isn't the kind of exercise I need! I have enough that needs dusting! Here is his sales pitch...it has infinite speeds...you can adjust it exactly to your pace. I am sure it can. While I sit in my chair it will be at speed 0!!!

He came home from work tonight proclaiming that the tread mill should go in our daughters room. There is no way it would fit in that room...besides it is on the second story of the house. How would he plan on getting it up there? He just doesn't get that he is not getting a tread mill in this house!!! What is it about men and their "toys" that they HAVE to HAVE and then never touch again. I asked for the bookcase that he PROMISED me would be built in the living room IF I bought him a particular saw. I bought the saw YEARS ago. Now my patience is gone and I expect the bookcase. I think I have been more than reasonable.

Oh my friend how I feel your pain. I agree with Yolanda - it will never get used. I just dust around mine :)
