Weekend Eating...

My schedule was jam packed this weekend. On friday my wife wanted to go to dinner with a couple friend of ours, she asked if Thai was ok. NOOOOOO!. Thai taste so good but Asian cuisine is the worst for my diet. You never know what's in what and the noodles and rice are just itching to spike my insulin levels. So we agreed on an american grill. I ordered a steak that came with vegetables (awesome) and your choice of Baked or Mashed Potatoes (NOOOO, insulin spike!). I do not want to draw attention to my dieting so I decide to order the bake potato, because I know I'll pick at the mashed but not the baked one (smart!).

Saturday was a birthday dinner with friends at a mexican joint. These places are usually a safer option. I ordered the lamb chops and was perfectly fine. My wife of course wanted to get nachos as an appetizer. She knows i don't want this but SHE wants it so she gives me the look. I want her to be happy so we get them and I eat a few, no biggie, I'll just skip the beer.

Then this morning we go to all you can eat brunch. This is the biggest test, because you can't just order a good options. There are waffles and crepes and a TON of cookies and cakes (This was a real fancy spot). I stuck to the Eggs and fish and beef. Although I was able to avoid the belinis and the waffles I gave in and had a couple peices of fried chicken.... I know I know, bad decision. But they were the wing size type, so it wasn't too bad.

Overall I am happy with my choices but let's see what the scale says tomorrow!

Sometimes spouses don't realize how they sabatoge our efforts. Yes, we should be stronger; but being a little more understanding would help a lot. My husband came home with brownies a couple of days ago. I had to ask him to "put them away, please..." He knew I was ending a 10-day fast. He doesn't know I really need his help in this. But, how can he not know my triggers. I think you made great choices. You were happy and happy with your choices. Best regards.
