Rowanfair's Journal, 17 November 2010

Boy I have been neglecting my journal!

Last Friday, being inspired by someone's tale of closet cleaning, I invited four girlfriends to come by for dinner and closet cleaning. Three of the five are on Atkins and I put a pork shoulder in the crock pot to make a nice main dish.

As it happened on friend could only come in the afternoon but the two of us got a lot done! She took away a 13gal trash bag of nice clothes for a women's charity that helps those returning to work get "work outfits" together. I also had a bag for cloth recycling (I *love* Santa Clara County's recycling program - just about anything recyclable can go curbside).

Then in the evening only one of the three remaining girlfriends could make it as the other two were feeling poorly. This seems to be a really bad season for colds already! But we got most of another 13gal bag filled and another small bag of recycling. And had a lovely dinner together with the DH who also kindly put everything back in my closet so I wouldn't have to lift things. My closet hasn't been this empty in forever! But there is still more to do. I haven't even started in on the pants, just the hanging things. And just my main "everyday" closet. I have two other closets full of bellydancing and other costumes.

I guess the other notable thing this week was that Tina came by on Monday. She only sees me once a month and she was just so complimentary about my weight loss. Somehow seeing it through her eyes really helped as I have been in one of those "I'm still fat and lumpy" moods.

I really need to get back to exercising but my health is still iffy though I am definitely improving. I did 30 min of exercycle Saturday and 10 min the morning. I ducked out on the creek cleaning party on Sunday though because I just couldn't face the idea of bending and stooping with my sinus vertigo. Esp. as I had to drive to Berkeley for a meeting in the afternoon.

And, in case there are any gamers among you, I am 10/12 in ICC and may get Kingslayer this coming Saturday. *faints* I am beside myself as have never been a high end raider before. And I will have five toons to 80 before Cataclsym.

Yeah on the closet cleaning - when would you like to schedule help again?? I (hopefully, knocking on wood) should not be ill again this winter so I'm game!!! Sorry I had to miss the last one. Feels good doesn't it?? I'm also starting to buy new clothes, but am getting rid of the same amount of old so I don't have to do that sorting/cleaning thing again ANY time soon -- feels so good I'm glad it stopped lOLOL. Congratulations on the game thing, all of which went over my head, but it sounds as if you've gotten somewhere that you can be proud of. Hugs.

After Thanksgiving sometime maybe. I was sorry you were feeling poorly. Yay for new clothes! I'm not quite ready for that... I found a lot things I can wear in the clean out. *grin* And thanks for the game cheers. *grin* We'll see if I actually get it.
