36 hours 28 minutes elapsed of a planned 192 hr fast (yes that is 8 days)

Ate plenty of yummy carbs during a quick 4 day vacation...No regrets 💪🏾💪🏾!

Scale is looking proper this morning and I'm back to my pre vacation day scale weight in less than 48 hrs due to this extended fast (209.2 lbs to be exact)

Running 🏃🏽‍♂️a 5K tomorrow 61 hrs into a fast. This will be interesting as my body fat will be my fuel source then 🔥.

Thanks @adefwebserver and @enr4hisglory. Just registered for the race and checked the est temp at the time of the race to see how to dress. 28 degrees. I can live with that.

Fasting that long will cause your body to go into starvation mode and you will not burn calories for a while after coming out of it. Intermittent fasting works because you don't fast long enough to cause your body to go into starvation mode. Hopefully you are drinking a lot of water. Also if you run a 5K with no fuel you will most likely start burning muscle once you run out of glucose.

Thanks @ApacheTiger37 - I appreciate your comments/concerns but I beg to differ as starvation mode is a myth. We would never have survived as a species if we couldn't access fat in time of famine. Again, thanks and no thanks.
