Monday morning and back at work. Had my first Atkins shakes and oh dear they taste much better than I expected! I will have to be careful about having them around I think. OTOH, it is nice to have one more "just grab it" food in the repertoire.

Having opened the pasta sauce for the pizza experiment, both Saturday and Sunday I made omelets with squash, proscuitto, cheese and tomato sauce that were just amazing. It makes me realize (again) how simply I have been eating. Such complex flavours are so much more interesting.

Sunday we went to IKEA (my first time ever) and bought a bookcase to be the "charging station" for my electronics. I have just gotten too many things plugged in all over the place. The addition of the work cell phone is the last straw as it were. IKEA was very well organized and all but I doubt I will go back. Big box stores are just too big for my mobility challenges. Hmm. I should add it to yesterday's exercises, we certainly walked for a long time!

Oh those shakes sure are good aren't they? I am struggling to limit mine right now. I know how convenient and yummy they are. We don't have IKEAs here. Wasn't a huge fan, but they do carry some pretty cool stuff there.

I had imagined IKEA would be what I needed for the table/shelf thing. But in general my taste in furniture is not Scandinavian. My house was built in 1901 and has a much more Victorian look than Danish modern. But IKEA had pretty much exactly what I was looking for, with a wood finish that matched the room I was buying it for, so it worked out.

Soon the mobility will be much better. You are already so much better than you were. Can you imagine trying to do this when you first started this journey? I sometimes have to make myslef remember how far I have come. I used to have to use the cart to hang onto just to get through the store. When I would take the niece with me, she always wanted to push the cart, but I had to hang on it (notice I said hang on it, no onto it) just to walk through the store!!! Not anymore. Just remember to remind yourself just how far you've come since you started, because "You've come a long way, baby!". lol

Thanks, Stef. I know what you mean about having to hang onto the cart. I still don't let the stocker helping me out push the cart. My mobility problems are from an accident in 1984 and I'm not sure that the weight will mitigate it that much. Can't hurt though. :)
