Rowanfair's Journal, 21 July 2010

I've done pretty well this week with my calories (except for Saturday when I got to gaming and forgot to eat dinner). And last night when I got home from work and fell asleep. I think having my immune system revved up to fight the carcinoma on my forehead takes a lot of energy. I got up about 8:30pm and ate a cold hot dog and went back to bed. Not the salad I had intended but I knew I needed some calories and I just couldn't muster the energy to *make* anything.

I am getting really tired of cooking all the time. I want to be able to go *out* and get low carb fare. It is true my local diner that I sometimes walk to has a low carb salmon plate. That was good to find out. But of course diners usually have all sorts of legal choices because of the breakfast-all-day thing. But I really want someone else to make me flax pancakes or have mims I can get with a cup of coffee on my way to work. It is really crazy because I *like* the food I am cooking. I just don't want to cook it.

Also funny is that up until about 5-6 years ago I cooked every day for the family. Somehow in those years I have gotten out of the habit and it feels like work instead of just what one does. At this point my husband and I have entirely incompatible food preferences and are cooking separately.

Rowan, with our busy schedules and now trying to get the house ready for selling, we eat out a lot. Im pretty used to the foods that I can have from anywhere we go. As a matter of fact, last night we went to Mexican and my daughter and I shared the fajitas for two. She ate the tortillas and I just had the meat. Today, I had the left overs along w/ low carb tortillas (3 net carbs). And I don't like cooking either. I told DH the other night I would be in 7th Heaven if someone would could Atkins fare for me all the time.

We should all get together and open a low-carb restaurant chain. :)

Just got back from the low carb salmon at the diner. I agree, a low carb restaurant called Holy Cow sounds fab! LOL
