tesseeb's Journal, 16 January 2019

So I had a really stressful day at work yesterday and wound up back to my old tricks. I stayed up a bit too late but not as late as my bad self would but the worst part was that I had horrible, stressful work dreams. Don't you just HATE that?? I woke up feeling like I was crawling out of a pit of wet concrete just trying to get to the point that I was alert enough to gripe at my husband for watching Fox news. :) So I got enough hours of sleep but definitely not restful sleep. Sigh.

Hi @keyten77! After that post, I realized I was spending 90% of my waking hours obsessing about my newish job because I'm an overachiever. Unfortunately, that means spending 90% of my waking hours stressing out. Gah! So that crappy night was a major wakeup call when I actually went to the trouble of posting about it and I deliberately forced myself to start fixating on other things such as daydreaming about what life will be like when I get to my goal weight, camping, finding a new house, you get the idea. I'm trying hard to push the negative thoughts out by filling my brain with positive thoughts. The beauty of it is that my sleep has been MUCH better!!! YAHOO!!! It's still a major battle to turn off the TV at a decent hour since it's so easy to keep streaming the next episode and the next but I'm forcing myself to stick to it. Posting has actually made me stop and think about what I'm doing. I didn't realize it's such a useful tool in this journey!
