Rowanfair's Journal, 26 May 2010

Bah. My husband really wanted to do take away from PF Chang's. I had previously looked at their menu and decided there was nothing I could eat, but I looked at the nutritionals again http://www.pfchangs.com /menu/ NutritionalInfo.aspx and found the wok-seared lamb and read it as having 9 carbs with one fiber for 7oz. Unfortunately 7oz is 3 servings! And whomever put it in FS did 4oz portions with numbers not very related to the PFC website. :( I wish I had weighed it as it didn't seem like 7oz either. I suppose there was some marinade but it was really just tasted like pieces of lamb. No idea where that many carbs came from. I'm very annoyed

Edited 10am... my guts are very unhappy with me, so there really was something off diet about that meal. :(

Im thinking they probably weighed the meat before cooking therefore it was more raw than it was cooked. I find a lot of things in FS do not correspond properly and have to enter them myself. The lamb does sound good though.

I love lamb and eat if fairly often. I'm totally bummed by this incident though, it is the first time I've blown my carbs in five weeks on the diet. And what kind of meat portion is 2.33 ounces? Phoeey on PF Changs!

I actually heard an announcement on the radio yesterday talking about high calorie meals. PF Changs has some chicken (?) stir fry dish that has well over 2000 calories. Hello! That is more than my daily caloric intake. It all boils down to sauces and marinates. But yes, 2.33 oz is not a full portion. It'd be better to make it yourself.

Definitely better to make it myself. Lesson learnt!
