Ashley Sewards's Journal, 17 June 2016

August is approaching pretty dang fast..that is when I had wanted to reach my goal of 199 lbs. And I am not one bit closer to it than I was when I made that goal :( I just can't seem to lose any weight! And I'm really starting to get upset.

Diet Calendar Entry for 17 June 2016:
320 kcal Fat: 7.00g | Prot: 15.00g | Carb: 50.00g.   Lunch: Lean Cuisine Sweet & Spicy Korean-Style Beef. more...

Ugh sorry, thats a shitty feeling. What is it that you've been doing to get to 199 and why do you think it's not cooperating with your plans? Also are you taking measurements? Sometimes the scale us a dickhead but your body changes.

Looking at your diet you seem to have a rather carb heavy one, but in the end a low amount of eaten amount in total. Starving yourself could possibly be the reason, and your body slowing down your metabolism to minimize muscle loss (or so I've read). I would suggest just keeping a strict diet only 400-500 calories under your RDI, and then make it a protein and fat heavy one, with as little carbs as you can (10-20%). Btw, I'm purely just writing something I've read, and are in no way personal experience, as I don't diet much (just started myself). :)

Ashley, I know you are trying very hard. My suggestion is taking a hard look at your nutrition plan. Please check out www.dietdoctor.com and see how a total change can get your weight loss moving. I am not advertising - just suggesting what could really help you.

Ashley Sewards HCB is right. I visited dietdoctor.com this morning and found information about low carbing vs fasting for this weekend. I'm still deciding what I want to do, because I want to be 180 pounds for the 4th of July. I read some good information from the page I found, and clicked on all the links that interested me from that page and found useful information. What I read? Be in control of your insulin levels to lose the weight you need to lose. I will post the link I read this morning. http://www.dietdoctor.com/fasting-vs-low-carb

Man, Reading all of these comments have REALLY made me a happy man. When I started this journey I knew NOTHING about insulin. Only that diabetics need it. Half a year later almost, and I'm damn near more educated that most endocrinologists on the subject. Insulin TRUELY IS the root of obesity. It has been VERY DIFFICULT to educate the world about it though. Nobody seems to be willing to do what it takes to reverse the problem. Which is so simple. Cut Carb's and Fast. That's it. And when Insulin is under control you can reintroduce SOME more carbs(See healthy Carbs) and still continue to lose weight and REALLY BEGIN to enjoy life.

You've got plenty of time to reach your goal, but you're going to have to get on the right plan and stay committed.

Ashley, are you recording every thing you are eating? If you are, as Luckyyshot noted, your diary looks like it's heavy on the carbs, but low on total calories. If you are not recording everything, that may be a good place to start. If you can see what you are consuming, it may show you what you need to change. And entering your planned menu lets you see the effect before hand. Good luck.
