Ashley Sewards's Journal, 14 March 2016

So, I just ate about 2 cups of cantaloupe chunks and a banana.. and I'm still hungry. Ugh! why couldn't that have filled me up? I don't want to eat anything else...and I'm not going to. I guess I'm just going to have to deal with still feeling hungry until dinner time. Smh. My mom is on a raw foods diet, which is all fruits and vegetables, and I don't know how she satisfies her hunger. lol. I just don't know....

If I ate those two items since it's virtually all carbs I'd be hungry in an hour. I try items like peanut butter and an apple, or cheese slice with sliced turkey. A different type of snack holds me over longer. It's worth a try.

I gave the whole "high protein, high fat, cut nearly all carbs" a while back and I was FAMISHED. I ended up gaining because I was hungry all the time, and all the plan allowed were high-fat things. I went back to what works for me: whole foods, real foods. Mostly veggie protein plus eggs and dairy, fresh fruits and veg, whole grains, some meat now and then, keeping track of calories, and adding exercise. Move a little more, eat a little less. For me, it's that simple. Nutrition may be complex, but eating doesn't have to be. So the tl;dr version is: do what works for you. If the diet you're on is leaving you hungry, feel free to ditch it and try something else.

Ive been eating a lot of avocados. Just waiting on some more to ripen, monika135 :) And I agree with you, karenbledsoe, I'm trying to eat less and move more. That's definitely the key

Watch out for bananas, and a lot of fruits. A whole apple is good, but fruits in moderation. They can trigger hunger.

You may find eating some low fat ricotta cheese with the fruit is more satisfying. The protein slows the absorbtion of the sugar in the fruit and you will feel full longer.Good Luck

Yeah, I just had that problem... ate cottage cheese and mandarin oranges, which I love for two days at breakfast.... and the next day, I started getting hunger pains, which I had not had for the past 6 weeks of LCHF... sad, because it seems like a better choice than bacon, but at this point, get the weight off, then we can have a banana.. lol ... good luck to all.
