Talelia's Journal, 17 June 2015

I know no one will see this. I got hooked back on soda about a year ago. I've got to shake this addition. I also have no desire to exercise. I stay busy but not enough to get this extra 15 pounds off. I've got to force myself to just do it. I know getting a physical would probably help.

Getting a physical is a great start for addressing the situation and engaging the challenge. Your medical professional will be your biggest supporter of your pivot to success! Can you try flavored seltzer water from Poland Spring or Citronella. They come in lime, lemon, pomegranate, raspberry, etc. Good luck!

Nutrition is a much bigger variable then exercise,, feed your body good healthy foods,, avoid sugar and you will be off to a good start,, add the exercise later when you have more energy it will come natural .

The exercise is part of it but truthfully 80% or more of what it takes to lose weight is what we eat. So cutting out soda would be huge thing. Getting started is the first step, today's a great day to do it. :)

Thanks or the support. I've been walking a couple of miles a day and working in the garden. I've cut my soda way back. Had 1 Saturday but the rest was water.

Do you know what it is about soda you crave? What helped me cut back on soda is mixing seltzer with fruit juice. I try to get fruit juice that is actually fruit (no fructose corn syrup if possible), and mixing it with the seltzer gives me the sweetness and bubbliness that I crave. Hope that helps!

I mostly drink about 6 or 7 bottles of water everyday with flavored Crystal Light. But I love sodas, too! I started drinking Coke Zero's when they came out. They have no calories. I also love Sprite Zero's and Diet Dr Pepper. These are the sodas that I drink now!

Abs are made in the kitchen... It's true. Working out is important but what you consume is more important. Addictions to pop (soda) is hard to break. Your body goes through a detox that is rough. Do the best you can and try to remember every thing you do is one step closer to a healthier you. You can do it!
