That phrase “you got this” is used a lot here on FS, but the reality is that very few actually do “got this”. Lots of folks have self proclaimed, long term, major sugar/food addiction problems and for them life is just a vicious circle of gain/lose and deteriorating health issues. The world of healthy nutrition is very complicated and a case can be made for almost any WOE out there. We all want weight control but without sacrificing what we want to eat. Just doesn’t work that way. Those who post pictures of cute little kids need to start NOW working on developing a balanced way of eating including portion control appropriate to age and the frequency that certain food types are offered and eaten.

this is definitely apt. I've been thinking a lot about quicksand (as an analogy) lately and having to go slow to escape. I've never been one to cut out entire meals or macronutrients, but I've still yo-yoed a bunch due to going too hard on the tracking and portion control.
