Kenna Morton's Journal, 14 February 2023

My weight loss this morning was due to our FRIEND COVID— yep finally got me. I got it from the BF. And, just a heads up, it is on a roll again. Suddenly it is cropping its ugly head up more and more. Yesterday I had a headache and fever andI was so stuffed up it was hard to breathe. But woke up this morning and feel much better. Will go for a short walk around the block today..

Sorry! Covid is everywhere and it's here to stay! Drink plenty of fluids and treat your symptoms. Rest! Help your body fight off the virus 🙂

Yes it is here to stay but I know that for me masking is also here to stay when I go to crowded stores, movies, play, etc. not because of Covid but because the colds and flu viruses are big enough to be trapped in a KN95. I haven’t had even a sniffle in over 3 years. No matter the precautions we might personally take we can’t control what our families and friends do and that is where most people get their colds, flues and Covid—

So glad you are feeling ok. It's weird, I've been taking care of my husband thru his bad bout with Covid and didn't get it. Before he tested I was touching his forehead etc as we thought it was just a cold. I'm blessed and grateful that I was spared but don't take that for granted. After he tested I have sanitized, masked up, and he started sleeping in spare bedroom. I have limited time out as well, even though I am negative. I didn't go anywhere at first because I was afraid to leave him alone. That's how bad he was.Happy to say he was fever free all day yesterday and seems to be on road to recovery. He is still sleeping so hopefully he will even have a better day today. Stay safe Kenna!💜

Sucks that you caught it when you take all the precautions. The pound down makes sense. I don’t understand how others gain weight while sick with Covid. If it’s hard to breathe and taste/smell is off and fatigue makes one sleep all day, how on earth do people go up in poundage???

It’s 9:45am, I feel just fine now—we are headed out for a walk, not a hike, maybe just a mile. BF is doing great too. Seemingly dodged a bullet.

Katsolo— the BF’s bad symptoms preceded mine by about 2 days so when I was feeling pretty punk yesterday he turned full circle and did all the things for me that I did for him two days prior. He was so cute. He is really good about doing what I tell him to do

That’s so sweet. Take care.

I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better. I worry about Covid alot but am trying to live my life instead of staying home all the time. I take masks with me everywhere but have reached the point I hate wearing them, but can deal with one for 15 minutes in the grocery store. Hope you take it easy for awhile just to be sure it's over.

This is the morning of day four. Slight headache, sinus congestion and a little bit of a barky cough, but that is it. B F tested negative last night so was going to go to work today, but I convinced him to just take it easy and recover. I don’t care what they say about masks, they are with me forever if I go to a crowded store or venue. Even if they don’t help that much with Covid (virus is so small) unless you use a medical grade N95, it works for colds, flu and RSV which I Definitly don’t want to get— Covid and RSV are traveling together these days.. masks have always been a part of my life so it’s no big deal. I use a KN95.

Odd thing about my having Covid is that I am just not hungry at all I’m managing breakfast and lunch because the body needs those nutrients, but by dinner nothing even sounds appealing. It will pass.. still feeling good today. Working on taxes but will take an afternoon nap?

I am happy to report hubby has no fever today. He looks better too. Not so "gray" I'm so happy. I never tested positive and I still stayed home. Part was because I was afraid to leave Joe at first but part was because I felt like better to be safe for everyone else. I'm glad you convinced BF to stay home. I heard that to much to soon can cause relapse.

Diana-1234–I’m glad your husband is on the uphill climb. I’m more.concerned with long term effects than I am the momentary discomfort and inconvenience that I experienced. . Since Joe was so sick, keep your doctor in the loop in the months down the line

So glad you're feeling better. Like you, my biggest concern is Long Covid. Hope you dodge that bullet, perhaps having such a mild case helps. Take care of yourself.
