Kenna Morton's Journal, 04 October 2022

This morning I had a great little breakfast— about a 1/3 cup dry oatmeal, a tablespoon of honey, a couple tablespoons of yogurt, a couple table spoons of milk and I had an egg. It really tasted good. Oh by the way, it was called a pancake. Stop saying, “oh I can’t eat pancakes, their fattening” or have to many carbs. Look at the ingredients you have— do you eat oatmeal.once in a while, an egg, yogurt, a little honey?. If you can occasionally eat any given ingredient, you can combine them in any way that you see fit and and have a food item that would really make your day. Think outside the box. Maintenance is forever — knowing how to cook and make your own food and not relying on prepackaged or frozen meals is crucial to making this work. Just look at some of the great meals that show up here once in a while because the chef went through the fridge and put together what they had on hand.

I have to be very creative to stay within my carb and calorie allowance and sometimes I fail. It's a matter of choosing what is best for me personally, like you have.

I completely agree with you. I am shocked to see what a lot of people eat especially frozen meals that are full of salt and sugar. It’s so bad for the health of the body and therefore weight issues.

There are so many choices out there, we really have to read the labels. There is no sense taking BP meds and diuretics then consuming huge amounts of sodium. Read the labels and make better choices for your particular situation. A couple of days ago an acquaintance sent me a recipe she thought I might like— I took one look and knew it was not for me. One serving of this fantastic, not to be missed southern casserole had just about 2500 mg sodium in it.!!
