Those hidden calories!!!

I feel like an idiot. I've been faithfully recording my calories intake/output for the past month and according to the total deficit in calories, I should have lost 3.4 pounds between the 1st and 16th of this month - about 2 weeks. But I had lost only 1 pound.

I just realized that calories have been sneaking in through my drinks! At least once a day, usually twice or thrice, I make myself a cup of Milo in the office. Milo is a sweet hot chocolate kind of drink that you mix with hot water. I add in a giant tablespoon of powdered milk and two tsp sugar. I've been recording this as "cofee with milk" in my food calendar because Milo is a British product and isn't in the fatsecret database. Ha! "coffee with milk" is about 90 cal while my sweet drink is an astonishing 300 cal. About as much as I use walking for 30 min. F me! I went back and edited all my foods, and got the real picture. A deficit of "only" 1.5 pounds which makes sense in two weeks.

So lesson learned there! From now on I'm sticking to tea (0 cal) and trying to limit the milk and sugar.
