This just in,

So, I uh...hit a new PR yesterday.

I've been gradually adjusting to holding a 2 minute plank while wearing the 20 lb. vest.

Apparently my cat, little Billy Flynn decided it was a good time to test his mama's core strength by adding his 12.4 lbs to the mix and leaping onto my back all the while indulging himself in a nice relaxing groom session.

I'm not sure if it was panic or shock, but I held steady for the whole two minutes!

...and, yes you to would have veins bulging out of your head while holding a plank with 32.4 lbs strapped to your body and 12.4 lbs of it was moving all over your back!

Needless to say folks, I'm feelin' perty darn good about my core these days.

And, no. Just so we're clear

On all that is holy,

I never, ever, EVER - want to hit that kind of PR again.

Awww, thank you guys. But, I'm okay with that being the last time I ever have that much weight on me during a plank. You see that sheen of cold sweat on my face? That's the result of panic running through my mind "screaming, OMG, please don't let this end ugly!" I think it might be time to put Billy in the Bedroom during "plank time", LOL.

Did another cat take the pic?

@Bottom Line - I never considered myself feline, but if the shoe fits! LOL. I took the pic with my phone. Keep in mind, the phone is used to set the timer for my planks, thus it was readily accessible on the floor in front of me :-) @DP and Diana - when I started 3 and a half years ago, I was only able to hold a plank for 10 seconds, and that's without a vest. It's been a long journey from then to now. In fact, I started trying them through a plank challenge posted on this site! LOL. And, thank you moops - although, it's quite possible I may have aged a few years after little Billy's antics ;-)

Lol great job! I used to have an old cat that would jump on me every time I tried pushups or planks. He didn’t like the pushups so got off quickly. Didn’t mind the planks! I don’t think I held it for more than a few seconds though.

That is a beautiful cat. I have 2 female personal feline instructors too. They like to instruct me while I do stretching/yoga when I cool down from aerobic/cardio exercise. They are awesome companions, fitness-buddies, motivators in stretching/yoga. Mine are Kiki & Whitey.
