Haven't written much in a while, been busy...

Hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving! I went and met up with a bunch of really cool people and had a great feast and a jam party. I made a tofurkey, basted and dressed with potatoes, onions, and carrots. (Actually I mde two...I kept one in the car as the "emergency" stash). I also made a tofu pumpkin cheesecake, cranberry sauce, bread pudding, and brought some vegan gravy as well.

And there was so much other good food there too! There were pomegranite and chocolate pies, both with tofu (the chocolate pie was so good, but I didn't taste the pomegranite pie), a sweet potato casserole with coconut and pecans on top, a raspberry desert thing with agar gelatin and a crushed pretzel crust, and way too many other things to mention...

After dinner, we had a great jam, and somebody did some really cool West African dance. I finally got dragged away by my 15-year-old dughter who said she was getting tired of hearing songs played for ten minutes...lol...I guess the whole jam party thing is lost on the three-minute-music generation. I suspect she was tired of hanging out with a bunch of old folks too (and I think she considers "old people" anyone over 28.

I ate a little too much, and since there were so many dishes, I didn't keep track of my food that day. I did follow it up with my "overeating formula" consisting of psyllium, acacia fiber, glucomannan, activated charcoal and bentonite clay. And the next day I didn't keep track either, but I followed up anything sweet with glucomannan and psyllium to slow down the sugar absorption. Today when I weighed myself, I was at a new low so I must have done something right even though I felt like I pigged out for two days!

It's good to finally break through a floor that I had tested about three times, and the last couple months has been a real plateau for the most part. I've stayed within the same five-pound range, but now I've finally gotten below that. I'm just hoping that there isn't a big upswing to counterbalance.

Anyway, happy holidays to all, and also fulfilling nutritional journeys.

Your parties and feasts always sound like SO much fun! Glad you're back on the downward path. I'm with your daughter on the jamming - my husband is a Dead Head, and I can only handle it for so long! :)
