After work last night I picked up a pair of running shoes that had come in for me, light as a feather and twice as fast. They're so shiny white and clean they’re embarrassing though; I will remedy that very soon!

Fridays are 'Treat Days' here at the office. Today there's a huge spread of all sorts of crackers and cheeses and cookies and Nanaimo bars and grapes. I love cheese. There’s a garlic & herb cheese ball, a blue cheese, a soft cheese, cream cheeses, havarti cheese, cheddar cheese, edam and gouda. It was going to be a Pad Thai day for me as well (it's Friday, after all!), but I think I'll be too full...

I'm working at my friend's convenience store again this weekend. Only three more weekends to go before they're all back from overseas, and then I'll have my weekends back. I'm starting to enjoy it though - I've met so many people in this neighbourhood whom I've never seen before, who have been there longer than I have and I've been here 10 years! And I've realized - people are really very odd. Well, I guess a better word would be 'interesting'. All these little idiosyncrocies that I've noticed, the way someone will hand you change, the way someone else can't (or won't) look you in the eye, the way a lot of people treat the person behind the counter at a convenience store - like a second class citizen. But then there are other people who look to start a conversation and really get to know you. Funny.
