I haven’t written about my young friend, the GENERAL, In a while. Yep she is still a part of my world and I am still “grandma Kenna”. I mentored both she and her mother on their weight loss journeys six years ago. She was an obese 8 year old. She will be 14 next month and has run 3 marathons (26 miles). She really wanted to run the Long Beach Marathon in September for her BD but they aren’t going to let her register because of her age. She gets it but was really disappointed. The mom has maintained her 175 lb weight loss, is happily married now to a great guy that we call SARGENT. They met at a race. He is a runner as well. Not overweight and never had been. Never been married and no kids. Loves the GENERAL dearly. The mom routinely runs 10ks. So, all is well in that little corner of SoCal.
