Wed is Kid day!

Yesterday was fun with the parents, even though they kicked my sister and I in cards. My parents' end of life paperwork & will is now in my possession, all notarized & ready to go. My sis sent me a message asking if I minded the responsibility and that she would step up if I didn't want to do it. I think she is feeling guilty because she is 6 years older. But I don't mind, I like paperwork and we are all on the same page, so no biggie.

E and I went out to dinner. No movie, because he wanted to go home and work. I skipped the soup, had only half of my fries and 2/3 of my wrap so I could have nachos too. All the calories are a guess since it is local diner. But I think I was right on point for a medium calorie day.

Tonight, E and I are going to DD's to have dinner and watch Infinity with her & her BF. They requested chinese. I have not decided what I want yet.

Thankful:
We are such a movie family. I am glad her BF seems to love movies too. He fits right in and he is not a douche like the last two. :-)

Goal for day:
Fit board on lunch, & already exercised. Enjoy my Iced coffee (so excited!!!) I always pick up coffees for us & the kids. Oh yeah, have fun with the fam. LOL My book is heating up and I have only a little over 150 pages left. 10 mins on the fit board is only about 20-30 pages. 50 mins of reading is plenty.

I can read for 30 mins before bed and finish the book tonight.
It is ok to delay an ending.
I would not finish it on lunch anyways.

I am going to have to repeat that mantra a lot. PLus, I can't finish before I get home because I don't have the next one with me. I won't be able to handle that.

Positive Thoughts:
The author I am reading is a much better writer now. Her first 8 books were just under eh. The next 8 were decent but still not devour worthy. The last 2....yummy. I have five more left then I get to reread a author I have been waiting on. So excited. Books Books Books! I am positive I love books! So, in less than 2 weeks, I should be knee deep in my next series. Yay!

Say, how is the Fitboard workout? I was kind of iinterested in perhaps incorporating that into my exercise for the weekly schedule. Thanks!

@LindaGT I will check it out. E always gets me a new author for Xmas. I love new authors! @FullaBella I love the Connelly books. I have lost count the amount of times I have reread the series. I don't my the show, or him. He def get the hardbutt attitude right. @Little Red Fox Is the outlander series have a very strong female characters? I find I can't stand wishy washy "let the man save me" woman in fantasy novels. @gz9gjg Same questions about M.M. Kaye....

@shirfleur 1 I like the sound of "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series". And I didn't know the play was based on a book. I love that. I will check it out. I can't read nonfiction. The way people treat each makes me too sad. @AboutMyTribe I don't know any of those authors! I can't wait to do some research. Most of the time I read 2-3 books a week. That is why this author was killing me. 3 weeks for 1 book..unheard of! I have called out to finish a book to. Devour is the right word. :-)

Yes jessa, both have strong female leads, both written by female authors. The Mollie Kaye books were published 40 years ago, are set in mid 1800s India.

@Krystal71919 It's not bad. I have never watch the dvd that comes with it, so I don't know if they make the workouts harder or not. I find them kind of easy. But my heart rate does go up and my waist seems slimmer and tighter from all the twisting. I do 10 mins 3-4 times a week at work before I read on my lunch. i do not get sweaty. I figure I can lose 10 mins of reading time (it only hurts a little) and not sit quite so much all day.

Jessa...I am planning on taking a "mental health day" 😉 from work next week. Go to the local beach, sit in my beach tent with a glass of wine, some pizza (within my calorie budget), and a good book.

Laurie Forest and Katherine Arden are newer authors. I got hooked to Laurie Forest just last year - she's become a fast favorite esp if you enjoy fantasy.

Oh books! I'm a book addict. After working in a bookstore for years I own a lot and read a bit of everything. I'm currently rereading some Terry Pratchett novels and working through the latest John Sandford. Next in the stack is a naval history book. Current audiobooks are JD Robb and Rick Riordan. I was lucky to grow up in a reading family. As a kid my parents read a book, or a chapter of one, to my sister and I after dinner every night . My sister now has a masters of library science, my dad and I both worked for Borders before they went out of business, and my mom recently retired from the local public library. I'm saving the money I previously spent on junk food and take out for some books and radio plays I really want!
