Week 24 of weight maintenance - 6th Month Maintenance Anniversary --> Wine Club Member Edition

To kick off this girl's 6th month anniversary in maintenance, I increased cardio by 5 minutes on the recumbent bike today and landed a nice 394 calorie burn for a 9.3 mile ride at level 16!

This was actually planned as the goal is to increase cardio again now that daylight savings time has sprung forward and Spring is on the horizon. Although, in an ironical twist of fate I took note on weather bug that we have a winter storm warning for Monday night into Tuesday with a predicted 3-6 inches of wet snow on the way. Our high's are well above freezing so this snow won't stick around for that long, but it's going to leave a wet mess given all the other snow that is currently melting - yay!

Anywho, next Sunday my mother and I will be receiving our second case of wine from the Maryhill Vinyard. They swindled us in to becoming members when we went on our road trip to the Oregon coast last September. Receiving 3 cases of wine throughout the year is part of the membership. It's very good wine so I can't complain. We pick it up at one of the tasting rooms here in town where they will be providing a tasting for that evening. As members, we get free tastings and a choice of nice meats and cheeses to wash our wine down with.

As you can see, my 1900 cal day is on Sunday instead of Thursday. I put the 1500 cal day on Friday, and put Friday's normal cals of 1686 on Thursday. Now how's that for playing musical chairs with one's weekly allotment of cals?! LOL

Mom and I went to Khols last Friday so that I might once again invest in another set of bras because the ones I had didn't fit. This girl has gone from a 42C-----------allll the wayeeee dowwwwwn to ------> a 34b. I put a lower case b, because technically the bras I got this time don't even have a number/letter. They come in small, medium, and large.

I bought 3 in the small - and much to my chagrin, they fit perfectly.

I'm working to let go of the story in my head that it even matters. I'm 45, no kids, and zero interest in a romantic or marital partner. I never had perky ones. The honest truth is that it's actually nice to be so small chested. Going up and down stairs is absolutely wonderful. I can sleep on my stomach with no problems whatsoever. And though, I still get rashes around my breasts from the MS (and yes, auto-immunes come with mild rashes), I don't get heat rashes the way I did at a 42C.

The style I got is very comfortable and wears like a sports bra, and the compression shaper tank top I wear to smooth out my 45 year old lumps pretty much holds them in place now.

In short, being small breasted is frankly much less hassle.

We're slowly getting the mind on board with the loose skin. Mama helps as she's always fond of telling me 1) "all of our skin sags as we get older, there's no getting away from that no matter how much you weigh" and, 2) "you really don't have as much loose skin as you think you do."

I simply tell this mind, "embrace that loose skin. That skin represents life experiences that are chalk full of lessons that have gotten you this far and continue to get you further. It's also an important reminder of just how willing this body has been to accommodate your wants, needs, and whims. Be kind to it and give back the flexibility it has given to you."

Anyway, thank you all for your continued support and encouragement. It is very genuinely appreciated. I wish every single one of you a healthy, vibrant, beautiful week!

Blessings
p.s. I'll be checking in next Saturday instead of Sunday as I'll be out wine tasting on Sunday evening :-)
