Protein alternatives to hummus?
I have always made my own hummus using either chickpeas (traditional) or Great Northern beans. In the blender combine one can of either, drained; a clove of garlic; a tablespoon of lemon juice; and about 2 tablespoons of olive oil; salt and pepper to taste. You can add back some of the liquid drained off to help adjust the consistency and texture.
