Starvation mode, fact or fiction?
I am really glad someone posted about this because I have often wondered the same thing about "starvation mode". In my personal experience I have tried both extreme low calorie (not eating, or eating very little in the day) and sticking to 1200 calories a day with 5-6 meals a day and really both ways I lost weight, but I am MUCH happier eating throughout the day. Maybe it is just whatever works for you and your body.

You don't need to lose any more weight!
I completely relate! One thing I really hate is ordering. Every time I order whoever I am with feels the need to say "that's all you're eating?!?" It drives me nuts and then there is a long discussion on WHY I am dieting, HOW I am dieting, etc. Why can't I just order soup and a salad! Why do I have to become the object of every ones scrutiny! I know they think I look fine, but if we personally aren't happy with our bodies then it doesn't matter! Thanks for posting this, I think there is a LOT to vent about when on the weight loss journey and it is nice to be able to discuss.

Answering the big question: "how did you lose weight"
k8yk wrote:
Here's how I answer when I don't feel like explaining it:
Q: How did you lose so much weight?
A: Math
And I agree Stacie and Sheri, when I do take the time to explain it more completely, people usually get disappointed. They don't want to hear that I counted calories and exercised 5-6 days a week for TWO YEARS. They want to hear "I followed the ____ diet or I took ____ and it cured my hunger." Most people aren't ready to imagine what it really takes.
This is so true, people want to lose weight without the work. I would love to take a magic pill and wake up 50 pounds lighter, or get lipo, but that's not happening. It's not that losing weight is hard, it is very simple, watch what you eat and exercise. Doing this I have lost 31 pounds. But not one single day has it been easy, every day is a challenge where I have to decide if the Taco Bell is worth it (and no it is not, but mmm nacho cheese.)
When people ask me how I have lost it I just tell them I worked my butt off, literally.
