I'm in my fifties, living on a small island off the west coast of BC. Gained rather a lot of weight over the last ten years, and now it's time to sort that out. So what I'm doing about that, mostly, is bicycling. We have a lot of hills here. I'm getting better at getting up them.
I find that in the short term, I gain a bit, I lose a bit. But long term, it's coming off pretty steadily. Can't allow the gain days to overshadow the loss days.
[UPDATE] Made my goal a few weeks ago (yay!), now just trying to maintain, maybe trim a bit more.
